Bill Winney is a longtime Wyoming resident, Navy veteran, and experienced leader who is running for office to stand up for retirees, families, and taxpayers being squeezed by inflation and rising property taxes. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Bill served 30 years in the Navy, commanding nuclear submarines and holding senior roles at the Pentagon, including Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Atomic Energy.
He and his wife have called Wyoming home since 1978 and raised three sons here, all University of Wyoming graduates, with continued family service in the military and National Guard. After knocking thousands of doors and speaking directly with voters, Bill is running to bring honesty, transparency, and real world experience to government, with a focus on protecting fixed income residents, strengthening Wyoming’s energy future, and restoring accountability for the people of the state.
